The Sony Style Notebook PC Trade-in Program is available to all Sony Style
customers who elect to trade in any brand Windows based PC containing a
Microsoft Windows 95 or newer operating system. Only Notebook PCs in current
working order, capable of running a diagnostic applet, can qualify for the
Program. The applet will not access any of your personal information and will
only identify your Notebook PC processor, memory and disk drive configuration
and confirm their condition, which will allow us to determine the value of your
Notebook PC. You will be asked to read and sign a form called the Sony Notebook
Trade-in Program agreeing to allow the diagnostic applet to examine your
Notebook PC configuration before we can begin. Based on the configuration and
condition of your Notebook PC, Sony Style will offer to purchase your Notebook
PC at that value that is determined.

. We encourage you to back up and remove all personal files and data before
electing to trade in your Notebook PC. Once you elect to participate in the
Program, your Notebook PC cannot be returned and all your personal files and
data will be lost. Microsoft's Backup Utility, which is available on most
installations, may assist to copy data from your hard drive to floppy/optical
disks, external hard disk storage driven or another computer on your network.
Please refer to the documentation for the Backup Utility to learn more about
this process. At no time should you remove the Microsoft operating system from
your hard drive. While we will have the hard drive on any Notebook PC you elect
to trade sanitized, and your data protected from disclosure to any third party,
as a level of extra protection, you may wish to erase any sensitive or
confidential data you may have.
